Focusrite Serial Number
So far I've just tested it as a DI for bass and the mic pre with a md421 on vocals. Both sounded pretty good, but I need to put it through it's paces a bit more. My first impression is that it's quieter than my RME multiface. I don't have a cable to use it with an ipad, but I did use it with my (rooted) Galaxy s3.
It seemed to handle recording 6 tracks okay using the USB Audio Recorder Pro app. I plan on capturing some rehearsals this way. The software is pretty primitive, I had to restart it between takes, but it basically works. I'll be doing a session on Thursday with it using a PC, I'll report back then about my first impression of the drivers, etc. I did a fairly simple mobile session with it yesterday, recording acoustic guitar and vocals. On my 5-year old laptop I couldn't get the latency lower than 10ms, but for my purposes that's fine.
My RME multiface doesn't do any better. Vilakku Vacha Nerathula Serial Song Mp3 Download. I thought the preamps sounded quite good, they didn't quite have enough quiet gain to run my group-buy ribbon mic off the in front of the 12th fret of guitar (I didn't really expect it to), but probably would have been fine for vocals. The converters seem to be of good quality, they seem to offer more depth of field than the old RMEs. I didn't run any of the bundled effects, but the mixer seems fairly useful, though not as full featured as RME's multimix.
The headphone amps had enough gain for my atm40 headphones, but not for my atm20 ones. I'm not so crazy about those things anyway. I'm fairly happy with the unit, it makes my mobile setup easier to set up and take down and sounds pretty good.
A couple petty gripes: while the unit seems well put together, the power supple and usb cord it came with seem pretty flimsy. I guess for the price point you've got to cut corners somewhere. Chris, I'm really liking the feature set of the 1818, I think you guys have nailed a sweet spot here on io and price. Can you share with us what chipset Focusrite is using for ADDA on the Scarlett line?

How do these differ from last year's line, i.e. The 8i6/18i6? There are no specifications on the site yet. Also, how do these compare with the Saffire firewire line? And lastly, I see that there is control software included in the package. Is there also a driver or are these plug and play on OSX? Thanks!I believe the 18i8 has the same chipset as the apogee duet.i assume the 6i6 does as well.
The feature set of the 6i6 is perfect for my needs, but I am on my third 6i6 since purchasing one earlier this week. The first unit had a flaky output jack. The second would die when playing at mid to high volume causing an embarrassing situation at a gig this weekend. I had to power it off and back on numerous times. Hopefully, the third time is the charm, at least this unit's outputs all work and it doesn't reset itself all of the time.
I need to test the inputs to see if they are all working Like I said, it fits my requirements perfectly (namely 4 balanced outputs, MIDI In, flexible routing/mixing, phantom power), so I really hope this last unit will stay working. One last thing: MixControl is confusing as heck with its naming conventions. For instance, it calls 'Line 1' output on the back of the unit 'Monitor 1' and calls 'Line 3' on the back 'Headphones Left'. Yes, I know that HP2 will have the same output as Line 3 and Line 4, but the inconsistency drove me crazy at first. There are two headphones outputs, so why call 'Line 3' 'Headphones Left'? Which headphone jack does 'Headphone Left' refer to, 'HP 1' or HP 2'?
The manual does explain things a bit, but is still confusing. Other than that gripe, MixControl is very cool and one of the reasons I bought a Focusrite. I like being able to set up mixes and routings for different playing and recording situations without having to touch my DAW or VST host. For instance, for live situations, I set up two outputs to be mono mixes from stereo synth sources and use the other two outputs for playing mp3 files with click track on the right and rhythm loops on the left. When in the studio I just select another mix that sets two outputs the DAW in stereo. Hey, I am considering buying a used Scarlett 6i6 or 18i8.
I heard they came with no physical discs from the factory, and that everything was downloaded using a included key code. Is this true? It's just that I want to get the 6i6 at a reduced price, but also want to still get Bass Stations and Loopmasters with it (which I believe need serial numbers registered in owners name to use them). So if there is a key code and the current owner unregister them off of their Focusrite account, can the new owner/buyer then register the key code/serial numbers and get all of the software? And beyond that, I have a 2i2 currently and want to upgrade to the 6i6, I will be selling my 2i2 to make that more possible. If I sell the 2i2, can I unregister the Ableton Live Lite 8 software so that the new owner may use it? Thanks for the help in advance.
Thanks for the help Akshay. But can you make it more clear? I know I can download the drivers and MixControl from the Focusrite website, but I am not sure about how you get Bass Stations and Loopmasters. Did your Scarlett come with any discs? Or a key code?
Does the key code/serial number you register automatically give you the software download for the ones I am asking about? I might buy used, but I want the Bass Stations and Loopmasters software, so I am trying to make sure if I would get it or not.
