Hello All, I have myself 16+ GP300`s I would like to program ready for packaged sale. I have GP300 CPS R03.11.15, it sees the com port 3 - the only one.(USB>232 converter, new Prolific PL2303) but just says cannot connect to radio. I have 1 of those 6in1 programming cables, when connected the red light comes on, when the software tries to read the radio the green light 'blips' a few times i assume detecting serial activity then just fails.

Ive tried normal battery power (the standard 7.2v ones, a few of them, all fully charged) as well as a 9v battery, it made no difference. Im using windows XP. Ive tried with at least 6 of the radios, they all did the same. Some made the green light flash alot when they were turned on, some didn't, i assume a difference in codeplug or something. Does anyone have any thoughts / ideas?

Any help much appreciated. Regards, Aidan « Last Edit: June 01, 2012, 02:58:11 PM by aidan » Logged. Hi Aidan, I can't help you with this one i'm afraid. GP300's are about the same age as me!

Gfxcore Dll Error Fifa Manager 13 Wiki. However, R03.11.15 is for the GP320 upwards (340, 360, 380 GM340, GM360, GM380 etc). It will NOT programme GP300's.

GP300's are programmed using DOS software and require a very slow PC. Do some searching online.

Im not saying anymore as I dont support software/CPS piracy. The only reason I am saying it is because it is sooo old i'm not 100% sure you would be able to buy it anymore (maybe Rob can answer that one?). Its been NLA for years at motorola. You need a 486 computer or slower really. Ive seen it done on a pII, but with dos on it. You need a proper serial port and a rib. If its got usb ports on it, its too new a computer.

Some people have said they have done it using windows 95 or vista, with dos in a shell. I havent seen it personally, and would be worried it would corrupt the radio if it gets 'squirted' too fast. An 'old style' dealer is your best bet.

Where abouts in the country are you, maybe a member has some old kit they can use to help out, but we need to know where you are! Good Morning, Ive done hours of reading online and quite a few people have it all working on CPS with Windows 7 and USB serial adapters. Ive tried on XP and Windows 7 and get the same error / issue, even 2 different USB>Serial converters.

It seems to be a bit of a dark art programming these, im based in Gloucestershire if anyone's local. Even if my version was wrong its my understanding the software would error saying non supported radio version, but its just not connecting. Version wise although its 3.11.15 I assume its a custom version as it installs as 'Professional GP300 GM300 Series CPS' and has GP300 plastered all over it, so Im pretty sure version wise im ok.

I think im going to have to dig out a laptop with a native serial port and try that. I'm confident I could get the Dos program I have to work but it would mean sourcing a super old laptop and I would rather get the windows based one working as its a lot easier to work with. Regards, Aidan Logged. You are correct sir: Supported radio models: GP320, GP330, GP329 (-Plus), GP339 (-Plus), GP340, GP344, GP360, GP380, GP388, GP366R GM340, GM360, GM380, GM339, GM399, PRO5250, PRO7250 In that case I also have 'RSS Version R08.01.00' which will do it: These GP300 radio models are supported: P93YPC00C2__ P93YPC20G2__ P94YPC20A2__.. Lots listed So the next question is does it HAVE to run natively on DOS? IE it cant be done from Windows 98 in a dos window?

Also whats the 'fastest' laptop that will work? The 'worst' one I have is a P3 600Mhz.

I doubt its batteries, i fully charged lots to test, I don't really have any idea what im doing I think i need to RTFM. I changed lots of them to UK Simple UHF freq`s and some went ok, on other it wouldn't let me have the same Tx freq Rx. And the TPL value just stumped me completely. I have about 18 of them, most are for resale, only did it really to get a few 'free' ones after selling all the rest. Aidan Logged.
