Today, just in time for Halloween, we’re proud to release an updated version of Nightmare House 2! More than 5 years ago we released Nightmare House 2, which proved to be an immediate success. The mod was and still is very popular, however it was later broken by a Steam update. We tried to wait it out, but it soon became clear that NH2 would need to be updated as well. Almost a year has passed since we resumed work. On the way some new members joined the team, and it became much more than just a quick fix, it became a full update, with us fixing many bugs and adding several new features. And you can download it right now!

The mod now runs on Source 2013: NH2 was originally created on Source 2007, the new version has lots of fixes, faster loading times, and other small tweaks. Most importantly compatible with the Steam update. No Source games are required to run NH2: That's right, you no longer need to own Half Life 2, Half Life 2 Episode 2, or any other Source engine game. NH2 requires only a registered Steam account. Note: If you do not have any Source engine games installed, Steam will automatically download the base assets (several gigabytes in size) when NH2 will be launched for the first time.

Mac OSX and Linux support: The release you’re about to download will run on Windows, Mac OSX and Linux. One download, three operating systems!

New weapons: NH2 originally had simple Half Life 2 weapon replacement models we found on third party websites. In the new version the weapons have been modeled, animated, and programmed by ourselves, and now look and behave differently than the original NH2 weapons.

New models, textures, and sounds: We managed to get rid of all the third party assets we used in the original version. All models, sounds, and textures found in the mod were created by Valve or us, with the exception of some world textures from textures.com Map changes and bug fixing: We’ve added new things to all of the NH2 maps, tons of bug fixing, re-balance, and even some new things here and there we’ll leave you to find. It’s also worth mentioning all maps got a full re-texture overall, you shouldn’t find any Half Life 2 textures now. (Special thanks to textures.com). Better visuals: Using Source Engine 2013 allowed us to now have better lighting, screen effects, and sharper dynamic shadows. This modification requires a registered Steam client. • Extract the NH folder inside NH2.rar to: Steam steamapps sourcemods (if sourcemods doesn't exists create it).

• Restart Steam and Nightmare House 2 should appear in your game library. Note that you are not required to own any Source engine based game (Half-Life 2, etc) in order for NH2 to run.

However, steam will automatically download the base assets when trying to launch NH2 without any Source based game installed, so get ready to download a few extra gigabytes. If you do not know where your main steam folder is it can usually be found in C: Program Files on Windows, and in your home directory on Mac OSX and Linux. YOU MAY CRASH AFTER THE INTRO, to fix this do the following: • Go to your Steam library, click on games, from the drop menu select tools. • In the tool list find 'Source SDK base 2013 singleplayer', right click on it, select properties. • Go to the BETAS tab, you should see a little down arrow under the 'Select the beta you would like to opt into' title, click on it and from the dropdown menu choose 'upcoming-' and click close. • Steam will download some missing files, when done, restart your steam and launch NH2 again.

Steam Greenlight: Many people asked us to set a Greenlight page for NH2, we want to, but first we have to see if it’s still relevant, NH2 was released in 2010, and was a huge hit back then. However Greenlight didn’t yet exist, so we may have missed the boat.

However, if we see NH2 is still being played by lots of people, and is worth it, we will look into setting up a Steam Greenlight for NH2. How can you help us: Spread the word! Most of the people who will see this news article are people who have already played NH2 before.

However there are many people out there hungry for horror games who simply don’t know about NH2. Make let’s plays (We enjoy watching them)! Now that NH2 doesn't require any Source based games it is more accessible than ever, let people know! Matlab Mac Os X Download Crack Internet here. I love Nightmare House 2, and I think it's one of the best HL2 Mods to date.

The work and detail put into this Mod is astonishing for a non-profit project. Hanns G Hg221a Driver Windows 7. That being said, am I the only one here who thinks the 2015 'Update' largely takes away from the feel of the original game? I understand the reasoning behind using custom assets as opposed to pre-made assets and reskins, but it really breaks the 'gritty' aesthetic of the original. The weapons specifically, are terrible, both the modeling and the animation behind them.

They look like they were ripped from a cartoon, and are not only disgusting to look at, but the animations are just bad - amateur even - especially compared to the stuff seen in Underhell, which is strange considering WeCreateStuff helped create Underhell. (I realize it may be separate teams, but it's still a noticeable drop in quality.) The sound design for these weapons is even worse, nothing has any bass to it. No more meaty impact. The 2010 version may have been largely reskinned/remeshed HL2 weapons, but at least they felt like they belonged in the game's setting. None of these weapons do. Normally I'd be more forgiving of this sort of thing if it weren't so noticeable, but considering the game is about 70% combat, it's impossible not to notice.

I'm aware that the 2015 Update did more than just edit weapons and textures and such, but it just seems so unnecessary.
